DECLARATIONS

From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

Your words are are important and today I am sending declarations to make and words to meditate on.

The Lord is strengthening the bars of your gates. He is blessing your children. There will be no lack of good things for them. They will not lack for food, education, love, peace and protection. Say Amen.

You are powered by the Spirit of God, you capable of the extra ordinary. You approach where others avoid, win where others lose, you are courageous when those with the strength of the world cower. Shout THAT’S ME!

When the runway ends, the pilot does not cry. Instead he lifts the plane to another level where different set of principles apply. The runway will now continue in the air. The wheels are retired and the wings take over. You will not despair nor be discouraged. The runway of that job might have ended, that relationship, that season! There must be an escalation to greater glory. Your next leg needs you to stretch those wings. Say Amen!

“Went out looking for lost donkeys, came back with a leadership mantle…uh! What an awesome week this was.” Say I receive!

Be healed now in Jesus’ name. I speak to every condition in your body, spirit and soul. May the healing virtue of God make you whole today. Say I RECEIVE

This week may you recover everything that was lost or stolen. I pray that the grace of God causes you to see a positive turnaround of everything in your life. Say AMEN

WHY SIT HERE UNTIL WE DIE?

From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? (2 Kings 7:3)

Download audio version - From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

Life comes with twists and turns, happiness and disappointments, marriages and sometimes divorces. All these are moments and it is important as a child of God to know how you handle them. You might be in a place of sorrow and disappointment but I do encourage you to look to God the author and the finisher of our faith.

The four leprous men at the gate of Samaria were condemned to a life of pain and hopelessness. In the eyes of people there was no way out for them because even those who were well in the city were suffering from depression brought upon them owing to the siege of the Syrians. One of the things I want you to note here is that their liberty began with conversation. They said to one another, “Why sit we here until we die?” They explored the options they had, enter the city? Sit in the same place? Or go to the Syrians? The answer to all these “We die!”

They made their choice, going where the food was! It was better to die there than taking the other options. When they got there, they were in for a surprise. God had performed a miracle? The word that Prophet Elisha had spoken was being fulfilled. The Syrians had fled and they ate and were full, collected as much gold and silver and possibly became the richest people in the city before they alerted others to come.

Why are you sitting there complaining? Why are you sitting there until you die? Get into a conversation with those with you or yourself and explore the options. The one you choose might seem dangerous but under the guidance of the Holy Spirit we do not fail. There might be delay but don’t view it as denial.

I pray for you today that you move from depression to hope. God is on your side and so victory should be yours.

Declare this,

I thank you Father for you have an option for me. My way is not into the pit but victory. What the enemy deemed as my end is the beginning of my miracle.

YOUR EXPECTATION SHALL NOT BE CUT OFF

From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off. (Proverbs 23:18 KJV)

Download audio version - From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

When you become a child of God by receiving Jesus as Lord and Saviour, you are regarded a new creature. Old things are passed away and behold all things become new. This however does not mean you will not meet challenges in life.

The challenges you meet have a limited lifespan if you understand what Proverbs is showing us here. As a child of God, your expectation will not be cut off! Expectation is the breeding ground for miracles. It defies odds! It is not limited by time!

It might look like you are falling and there is no hope but expectation demands that you hold on to the word of God, declare it and meditate on it! Expectation demands that you cast all your burdens upon the Lord for He cares for you. Refuse to count the months which leads to doubting God! Just look to Him the author and finisher of your faith.

He is God of the valleys and He is God of the mountains. When you are down low, know that He can lift you high up! Today I speak to you because you might be giving up, thus says the Lord time belongs to Him. Don’t bury your head in the sand nor let fear take control of you. Lift your hands to Him and just praise Him. He is not ignorant to the cry of His children. Remember, whatever you are going through, He is not ignorant. He is walking with you in this journey.

I pray for you that your spiritual eyes may be opened to see that He that is with you is greater than the one against you.

Declare this,

Today I raise my expectation knowing that it will not be cut off. He who Has promised is able to fulfill all His promises in Jesus’ name.

GROW IN GRACE

From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. (2 Peter 3:18)

Download audio version - From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

When we talk of grace, the questions that might come to mind are; how deep is it? How long? Does it have a timeframe? What does it do? What is Grace? All these questions we might not answer in this edition but from Genesis to Revelation we encounter this word Grace. In definition it simply means unmerited favour but in application it is deeper than our imagination.

The Apostle Peter in conclusion to his epistle urges us to “grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” This indicates that although God gives the initial dose of grace, it is all up to us to put an effort to grow the seed. When a seed is kept in a bottle, it remains a seed but when put in the soil and given the right conditions, it blossoms and multiplies.

You grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ by study of His word, meditation of the word and of course fellowshipping with others who may impart more in you. Grace remember as stated above is unmerited favour! It however does not mean you can abuse it. Grace used correctly opens doors, it brings more blessings and bestows honour upon the carrier of it. Those who choose to grow in it give themselves an opportunity to enjoy the best that God gives. This brings glory and honour to God as others observe your life.

Refuse to stumble as the challenges of life come, continue to meditate on His word. His grace will raise you up above those monumental challenges and as you sit with the Lord on high you will be just an observer. Personal praise and worship brings growth in grace, fellowship with Him in the word and prayer brings growth in grace.

Grace is a license to live life in abundance and bring glory to our Creator. A choice to grow in grace is a choice to partner with Him. I pray for you today that you make a choice to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Him!

Declare this,
Thank you Father for the seed of grace. I make a choice to grow in grace and in your knowledge today. Amen

IN HIS LIGHT WE SEE LIGHT

From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. (Psalms 36:9 KJV)

Download audio version - From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

Darkness is dangerous, in it you can trip and injure yourself. Jesus declared “I am the light of the world.” This means without Him, you are walking in darkness and in the hand of the enemy. You can trip any time and injure yourself or lose your life. With God is the fountain of life.

It is important to seek and pursue Him. Walk in the light and you will see His grace at work in you. The enemy loves darkness, it is his time to plant bad seeds. He can not do it in the light because Christ defeated him. In the cover of darkness he moves around.

Genesis 1 tells us that, “In the beginning…and darkness covered the earth.” The enemy was in total control. He was unhappy with the creation of the garden of Eden and God putting Adam and Eve there. It was something he had to fight against hence the deception and bringing the new creation being into darkness.

Today I urge you to open your eyes and ask the Lord to move you into His light. This is where we find light. People spend years seeking peace, it is in the light of God. When you find His light, there is the fountain of life. You need to seek Him with your whole heart. When you do so, you will find Him.

I pray for you that you move from darkness into His light. May the fountain of life flow in and through you touching others.

Declare this

Lord I thank you for unveiling the fountain of life to me. In your light I find light! I receive this light in Jesus’ name.

WAR OF WORDS (PART 4)

From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
(Pro 15:4 KJV)

Today I am a witness to the things that I spoke years ago. My words have taken root and become plants bearing fruit. Words will secure the future for you or destroy it. They are a weapon of mass destruction in the wrong hands.

The tongue that speaks good words is a tree of life. Very few references are given to the tree of life in the Bible after the book of Genesis. Proverbs 15:4 is one of those few. A wholesome tongue is a tongue with curative power. Kind words will destroy the power of disease and sickness but the wrong words will obliterate a happy soul.

Perverseness in the tongue is a breach in the spirit. A breach is a cause for alarm because it means things are not operating as they should. Something has been violated. You seem to be getting away with speaking the wrong words right now but be careful, it is matter of time. You are planting a big tree of death which you will not be able to uproot in the future.

Apostle James calls the tongue a little member boasting great things (James 3:5). A little fire kindles a great matter. It can set on fire a great forest. Such is the tongue; it can ignite a level of matters never imagined. Your rise and fall is on your tongue, your promotion or demotion, your prosperity or poverty is on your tongue. What do you want today? Choose!

Take charge of the little member. Just as you control all the other members of your body at will, control the tongue. Break its liberty to speak the wrong things. Instead, find for it a regime of words that will bring about a tree of life for you; words that will secure your future! Let the fire that your own tongue starts be a fire for warmth, heat that is used for good things. Fire is good, but when it’s not controlled it is devastating.

Shout I WILL LIGHT GOOD FIRES WITH MY TONGUE!

We wrestle not flesh and blood

From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

The enemy tries to attack in various forms and kinds and would have us believe that it is all natural. But today brethren I want to exhort to look deeper into the challenges that you are facing. All good gifts come from above. Anything that does not fall into good is of the enemy and must be renounced in faith. Standing upon the word of the Lord resolute and unmoved! Jesus endured the cross because He looked at the joy ahead.

Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Don’t be tempted to look at the natural for answers but as Paul clearly says, we wrestle not flesh and blood but we are dealing with
1. Principalities
2. Powers
3. Rulers of darkness of this world
4. Spiritual wickedness in high places

It may sound overwhelming but this week I found a song that blessed my spirit called, “This is how I fight my battles. It may look like I am surrounded but I am surrounded by you.”

The Psalmist asked, “If the foundations be destroyed what can the righteous do?” His answer, “ The Lord is in His Holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold..” You are not out of His sight! It might look like you are cornered but you are surrounded by Him! He is your deliverer, call to Him now.

Discard fear saint because even though the enemy is still active on earth, God is supreme. Put your trust completely on the blood of the Lamb that was shed!

Yes it may look like you surrounded but you are surrounded by Him! Don’t fear, keep walking by faith!

Weekly Meditation

From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it. (Ruth 4:6)

The story of Ruth is well known amongst Bible readers, she was a virtuous woman who chose to stick with her mother in law when she left the country of Moab.

However, my focus today is not Boaz but the relative who had the first right to take Ruth to raise an inheritance for the family. As we all know, Ruth became the mother of Obed who became the father of Jesse and Jesse the father of David and Jesus came in this lineage.

He refused to take Ruth because he would mar his inheritance but guess what, he denied a greater inheritance than what he thought he had. I feel his decision was based on pride and disobedience of the laws.

This week I encourage you to look at your own life and find those areas of pride. Areas where you disobeyed God’s word because of how you felt about what people will think about you. Take time to repent. What God presents before you might look like nothing but it holds greater things in the future.

Will you deny a Ruth because she is from Moab yet God has chosen her?

The Cross

From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (Col 2:14 KJV)

Download audio version - From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

Without Him, life is a cosmic of opposition and distress. A burden akin to swimming against the flow of a mighty river! It is spent in pain and tears. This is serious; the world was tailored to reject you. An inhabitable land for any human to survive and live a maximum life on his own!

Today put the cross into perspective. Understand its purpose because a lack of knowledge will keep you in bondage. By death on the cross, Jesus blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against you. All the laws and regulations that were put together by the enemy of your soul (the devil) were wiped away. The ordinances do not contain your name anymore! They are void of effect in the law that now governs your life.

You cannot be a slave of poverty; it was one of the things on these ordinances. You cannot be a slave of disease. Fear cannot enslave you. All forms of spirits and marauding demons that kept generations past in your family in bondage meet their demise at the cross. The cross took these things out of your way, meaning you must progress unhindered! He nailed this document to His cross giving you freedom to live, prosper, succeed and raise the next generation of champions.

The one who does not understand what Jesus did on the cross remains in the darkest alley of life. Groping, he is directionless and his spirit an open shaft for the devil and his cohorts to use at will, to volunteer for every experiment pleasing to their sight and kill without blinking. The cross is the sure plan given for your victory. It is an assurance of a great tomorrow, an insurance policy that pays whilst you live.

Contemplate the power of the cross today, consider the blood that was shed for the freedom that you must gladly receive. Life is a gift to you, live it to the full to please the One who gave His life so you can have yours. Live it with knowledge of Him. Express the uniqueness He put in you. Shine bright, that the world will rejoice in the One who made you. Refuse a low life governed by the enemy’s laws and rise above the limitations around you. If you have not received Jesus as Lord and Saviour yet, make it a point you do as you contemplate the price He paid for your freedom.

Happy Easter!

TURN ON THE POWER (PART 1)

From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8 KJV)

Download audio version - From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

Power in its many variations can mean many things. There is nothing as tragic as a lack of power where power must be applied. It is a blessing in any family to have at least one who has power. It is an opportunity to boast knowing that their matters can be solved quickly. Power can translate to financial power, political power, academic power and power of knowledge. We could also even look at mechanical power, electrical power and many other ways of its manifestation.

Well, in our family we are not just blessed with One who has power but this power has been passed on to all of us. Everything was happening too fast for the early Church. Just three years of effective ministry for Jesus. In that time when the disciples were just getting to know Him and understand His mission He was dead and hanging on the cross. After three days He was up and started appearing to them. It was a roller coaster of emotions! Before long He announced His departure to the ruffled disciples but here is the key… “You shall receive power…” This power is dunamis; it is force like the force of a huge army. A dynamic ability to cause changes!

His departure was technically an arrival on a large scale in the person of the Holy Spirit. The unleashing of the Holy Ghost into the world of believers, the very force and power of God! This only means believers should live a dynamic life! The army of heaven the Holy Spirit has come to dwell in those that receive Him! In the face of this power all other power wilts and surrenders.

This is the power that was on Samson when he picked the gates of a secure city and went uphill with them. This is the power that was on Peter when his shadow healed the sick in the streets. It is this power that was on Jesus Himself when He set free a man from a legion of demons.

This power that is beyond the analysis of man is on you today as His child. Do great things because you are powerful. Refuse to be bogged down by situations- any form of situation.

Declare this

I do not lack power in any area as I am equipped with the very force of heaven which supersedes all the other forms of power available. I HAVE POWER!
