Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him. (Job 13:15 KJV)
The story of Job gives us a glimpse into the spiritual world. It reveals things that were happening behind the scenes which Job and those around him were not aware of. In their minds, Job was bring afflicted for a certain sin and Job in his own mind believed God was afflicting him.
There is however one special thing one can pick from Job, he kept his trust in a trustworthy God. He refused to look in any other direction. He points out, “though he slay me, yet will I trust Him.” As we read the book of Job, we are made aware that the calamity was not coming from God but from the devil. Job refused to be moved from his ways before God. This was the desire of Satan, he wanted to prove to God that Job kept his ways because he was blessed and protected by God.
Many today when affliction comes, they find it hard to hold on to God. They will even visit witch doctors and false prophets to find a quick solution. The end is devastating. When you trust God even in the valley, He is sure to bring you on the mountain top! It’s His desire to see you overcoming temptation and become a better person. Affliction when overcome through faith and trust in God Has the capacity of putting you in a position of greater authority.
You must continue to present a solid front in your affliction. Refuse to be moved, trust Him! Maintain your ways before Him. Don’t give up on prayer, don’t give up on all the good deeds that you did whilst things were okay. Don’t give up on the word. When Job passed the test, the restoration was double what he had. The devil could not control anything anymore.
I do understand that the test you are facing might seem hard to break. Don’t focus on breaking it, just focus on keeping your heart pure before the Lord. There is nothing that the devil can do to stop God’s decree over your life. When your season changes, your enemies will be amazed by how God is capable of making all things work together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purposes.
I pray for you today that as you experience a low period in your life, may your heart remain pure towards Him. I pray that God’s Spirit gives you a revelation that will enable you to navigate your way out of that valley of dry bones
Declare this,
Though I go through a difficult season, yet will I trust Him. I vow to maintain His commands over my life and follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit. I maintain a solid front in my faith!
