For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV)
It is a great privilege and blessing to be God’s children. It is important for you to understand that the enemy in his cunningness had stolen your inheritance as God’s child through Adam. In His wisdom, God sent His only begotten son Jesus to restore our place.
Jesus had to enter the world through virgin birth as God is a respecter of His principles. The word above tells us that he made Him to be sin for us on the cross that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Righteousness is not earned by our good acts but it is a gift of God to everyone that believes in Him. Christ came to break the yoke of sin over your life. Sin no longer has any dominion over you.
There are some Christians who go on sinning and claim they have no control over the sin. You need to awaken yourself to the reality of the word of God and not allow the devil to deceive you by making you think you are powerless. Through the righteousness of Christ who knew no sin, you have been taken under His wings. You must take back your power today and overcome every form of sin that had taken control over your life.
I have come across many believers who struggle against sin. A deeper analysis reveals an acceptance and even a personal justification of the sin. A disregard of the price that was paid on the cross for their righteousness.
Today I want you to know that God did a great thing by making Jesus sin who knew no sin! All this was for your victory over sin. You need to embrace the gift of righteousness presented before you on the cross. Refuse for the enemy to deceive you and keep you in shackles of sin on the basis of authority he no longer holds. Refuse for your mind to be polluted by the wrong doctrines. He made Him sin who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Remember the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life.
I pray for you today that the burden of sin be broken over your life and that your life takes a new way of victory over sin.
Declare this,
Lord I confess with my lips that Jesus is Lord. I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead and as a result I am saved. I receive the gift of righteousness and refuse the shackles of sin to continue controlling my life in Jesus’ name.
