DRAW A LINE OVER YOUR FEAR

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 KJV)

When we were growing up fear was used as a way of keeping us safe or was it? We were kept from exploring things. We were introduced to the characters in the dark that had all sorts of names.

When God made us, he did not give us the spirit of fear. The problem with fear is that it cripples. It limits you and when you are driven by fear, you are never able to achieve any of your set goals. Fear puts you at a disadvantage. You start from a point of defeat as it cripples your inner man and robs him of all ability.

The ten of the twelve spies that were sent by Moses to spy the land were filled with fear. They saw the Giants of the land and it brought to them a lack of confidence that ended up disastrous for all their generation.

When you fear, you give your rights away. You surrender your opportunities! Fear is not of God. What God has given you is the spirit of power, love and a sound mind! You have power to overcome your fears and love is what balances that power. Your mind can reason things out, it can knit together strategies out of any situation.

Today, I encourage you to draw a line over your fear. Go and challenge those things that kept you back because you feared them. Yes they might be giants in the land but as you stand with God you are powerful beyond your imagination. David destroyed Goliath, he feared not!

I pray for you that you rise above your challenges today. May you be empowered to see your full capacity in this life.

Declare this,
I discard the spirit of fear. I know today that I am powerful beyond measure. My mind is sound and I am drawing a line over my fear!

PERFECT STRENGTH IN MY WEAKNESSES

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV)

In the hustles and bustles of life we are bound to meet many challenges. These vary in their intensity and duration. What is important is maintaining the link with the Father through Jesus Christ. To be able to communicate with him and find the grace to overcome these obstacles.

The apostle Paul was a man greatly used of God. In the process of pursuing his ministry work, he came face to face with a challenge. He was experiencing a limitation in his body, he calls it a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of satan, to buffet him and curb all pride in him. We are not privy to the nature of the situation but there are lessons for us here on how to deal with adversity and challenges.

Paul approached the Lord concerning this challenge three times. This shows us the value of consistency in prayer, he was not willing to give up! In those moments of adversity, stay on course in your prayer life. Don’t give up because of the mixed feelings the situation brings.

Paul was able to hear God’s voice. The Lord spoke to him and said, “My grace is sufficient for you.” When the grace of God is upon you, you experience victory even in difficult situations. His grace is sufficient in any kind of situation that you may face. It may be a delay in your goals and targets. It maybe a financial situation or a health situation, his grace is sufficient for you!

God’s strength is made perfect in your weakness! In that moment when you are feeling weak, look up to God to give you strength. There is nothing he cannot do. When you depend on him, you take advantage of his abundant strength which is never depleted.

Get ready for the perfection of God’s strength in you. Instead of despairing, strengthen your walk and relationship with him. You will be a witness of the abundant grace of God in this season.

I pray for you that strength may come to you in every area that you were weak. I petition the Lord for his abundant grace for your life today.

Declare this,
I declare that I am strong, strengthened by his power working in me. I take advantage of the abundant grace that he supplies me with. I am a victor through and through!

FROM BITTERNESS TO DELIGHT

And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David. (Ruth 4:17 KJV)

The story of Naomi begins with such sadness and pain. In pursuit of a living in the land of the Moabites, she lost her husband and two sons and she was left with her childless daughters-in-law. She then made a decision to return to Israel to which she said she had gone away full but was coming back empty handed.

One of her daughter in laws Ruth refused to go back. She would stick it out with her mother in law. Naomi had crept into bitterness of spirit. When people called her Naomi, she told them not to call her that! She entreated them to call her Mara. Naomi means delight and Mara means bitterness. She had moved from being a delightful woman to a bitter woman. Who could blame her after all she went through?

Thank God the solution giver. What began as a sad story did not end the same. Those who look to him will be revived. Child of God, I know you are going through things right now. Things that have changed the person you are into someone bitter! You lost where you were investing, you were taken for a ride, you got manipulated by some people! I understand and no one can blame you for the bitterness that ensued.

In all that experience God is bringing out something good. Your trip to Moab might have caused you to lose all but before you despair, look carefully. Your gain is bigger than what you lost. Naomi came back with Ruth, hardly a replacement for a husband and sons at that time but patience would change the story! Before giving up, apply faith and patience.

Ruth met Boaz and got married which brought about a son who ended up in Naomi’s bosom. His name was Obed! She was comforted in her pain. Before you go, not only was she comforted, this child Obed became the father Jesse and Jesse became the father of David! The trip to Moab was not bad after all, it brought about one of the greatest leaders in Israel two generations down the line.

Stop calling yourself Mara because God has a plan in that hard situation! You carry in you a great testimony that needs patience to manifest. I pray for you that you do not give up! That you may see beyond the current pain and be a partaker of your miracle.

Declare this,
I lean on the grace of God that turns bitterness to delight. I delight myself in the Lord and I know he will give me the desires of my heart!

WITH GOD YOU ARE A MAJORITY!

And the Lord said to Gideon, With the 300 men who lapped I will deliver you, and give the Midianites into your hand. Let all the others return every man to his home. (Judges 7:7 AMP)

Like many others, you might have felt insecure many times especially in the face of huge assignments. Your strength might have seemed insufficient and your resources seemed to diminish. Well, today there is a great lesson for us from Gideon.

Gideon was called by God to save Israel from the oppression of their enemies. Their situation was so severe in that whenever they planted crops, come harvest time the enemy would come in and destroy the fruit of their labour. There was nowhere to turn for Israel. When they cried to God for help, he sent them Gideon. Like many of us do, he doubted his capabilities. He feared and hesitated even when the Angel of the Lord appeared to him. Eventually he was able to mobilize a good number of people to go and fight the enemy.

When God looked at his army of 32,000 men he told Gideon they were too many. How do you respond to that? When he already seemed out numbered by the enemy, God saw otherwise. After this 22,000 went back and he was left with 10,000. God said to him that they were still too many for him to give the victory. Another elimination round came and he was left with 300 men! Yes 300, and God said the number was now okay!

Today, I want you to understand something: With God you are a majority! He does not count things the way man does. Remember he is not a man that he should lie not a son of man that he should not keep his promises! When you look at the numbers and get discouraged, you are making a huge mistake! God is on your side and so is his angelic hosts ready to be deployed by him on your behalf!

Those numbers you were looking at must motivate you to rise in faith. Yes the bank balance might look small, the number of friends might look small, the opportunities might seem few BUT with God you are a majority! He will multiply it by his power. That day, victory was granted to Gideon and the children of Israel. With a few many God destroyed the enemy.

I pray for you today that you become courageous in the face of huge assignments. Your season to rise to the Top has come and no one will stop you.

Declare this,
Victory is mine in this season. I refuse to look at the numbers but I look up to God the author and the finisher of my faith!
