BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU PUT ON

The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Wear my kingly robe; I’m going into battle disguised.” So the king of Israel entered the battle in disguise. (2 Chronicles 18:29 MSG)

Put some thought to what you put on, you may find yourself implicated in something you did not expect. Always be a step ahead in everything. A prophesy had gone out for the doom of king Ahab in the battle that was coming. King Jehoshaphat heard it and yet when King Ahab asked him to put on his kingly robe, he did it without thinking. Ahab himself was going to disguise himself.

Don’t be too trusting of people no matter how close they may seem. Many are ready to sacrifice you for their own lives. Don’t take proceeds of crime, nor receive a small token from a bribe. Those doing it might intend to make you the sacrificial lamb. Don’t volunteer your name to be put in by people who you have not tried and tested. You might find yourself in trouble for things that you didn’t do!

The devil always tries to pause as an angel of light. He will try to bring you into trouble through many means and ways. Ahab was clearly aware of his fate and wanted to pass it on to Jehoshaphat and save his own life. Wake up child of God, it is better to lose friends than becoming the prisoner in their place.

When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “There he is! The king of Israel!” and took after him. Jehoshaphat yelled out, and the chariot commanders realized they had the wrong man—it wasn’t the king of Israel after all. God intervened and they let him go. (2 Chronicles 18:31-32 MSG)

If it wasn’t for God’s intervention, Jehoshaphat would have died just for a robe. Better walk with nothing than wear things that are aligned with evil and death. Don’t covenant with criminals and non believers, they have no principles and will soon sacrifice you. Don’t overstretch grace because of stupidity, use your mind and the wisdom that God has given you through Christ.

I pray for you today that spiritual intelligence will be in you to discern and overcome all the tactics of the enemy.

Declare this,
I take hold of the wisdom of Christ. From now on I will not be naive and I will apply my mind in all the decisions that I make.

WISDOM 101

Remember: The duller the ax the harder the work; Use your head: The more brains, the less muscle. (Ecclesiastes 10:10 MSG)

The world today is full of systems that seem normal but on closer scrutiny are not efficient and are simply designed to keep the poor in poverty and the rich will continue to grow their riches. The gifts that God has deposited in individuals have often been neglected or trashed in favour of an established world system. There are pre determined professions that have no respect for the uniqueness of individuals. Just as we come with different fingerprints, we also come with rare talents!

Today it is imperative that you understand that your next level is going to take a lot of self introspection from you. This is not something you can leave in the hands of your employer or teacher. You can take an aim at greatness today and achieve it! Whatever work you are going to do with your hands will be very hard and monotonous if the mind is not used in proper introspection and planning.

God gave you an independent mind so you can figure out your unique path and walk it to success. This is why your thoughts are personal and can only be known if you express them. Give your mind the challenge so you can take an aim at your God given destiny. Your mind is the main capital you need to start that business, it is the resource you need to make things happen! Don’t allow your mind to be limited, let it plummet the depths of imagination until your solution is found. Your mind is as vast as the sea. It carries the abundance of the sand on the sea shore! Don’t let it function like water in a teaspoon!

When the mind is fueled by wisdom and allowed to flow with God’s Spirit, it will achieve greater things. More than what education can achieve. It will give you a life free of toil and hard work. There are ideas that can be crafted in your mind today, set it free. Break the walls and confines the world system has put on it.

I pray for you that your moment of release comes. Release from toil and hard work through the wisdom of God.

Declare this,
Today I set my mind free to explore and be guided by the wisdom flowing from the Holy Spirit. I refuse a life of toil and hard labour in Jesus’ name!

THE POWER OF GOOD COUNSEL

Strategic planning is the key to warfare; to win, you need a lot of good counsel. (Proverbs 24:6 MSG)

One of the distinguishing factors between successful people and the failures is the counsel and the quality thereof they get. Those who choose to drift along in life with no wise counsel in their lives end up making devastating decisions with untold consequences that can even cost their lives.

Rehoboam was the son of King Solomon and when he took over from him, he had to match the wisest king who ever lived. Every move he made was going to be critical. This was not so, his very first move was disastrous because of failure to harness the power of good counsel. The people came to him, asked him to lighten the load that his father had put on them. He first approached the elders that gave his father counsel. They told him to make it easy for the people. He rejected the counsel of the elders.

He went to the young people he had grown up with and asked their counsel. They gave him the wrong counsel and he chose that. (1 Kings 12:14)
and went with the advice of the younger set, “If you think life under my father was hard, you haven’t seen the half of it. My father thrashed you with whips; I’ll beat you bloody with chains!”

From then on the kingdom was split and out of twelve tribes, Rehoboam remained with only one tribe, Judah. Good strategy comes from good counsel. Retention of things comes from good counsel. Progress comes from good counsel. When you take counsel, it is not based on your emotions but from the spiritual and natural realities. Never discard good counsel because of pride and other emotions.

Many are in trouble today, lost all the things that they had accumulated owing to a lack of good counsel. Seek good counsel and make use of it! This gives you a ticket to your next level of success.

I pray for you today that you may be able to seek and identify good counsel. May your life turn out to be what God always intended for you.

Declare this,
I choose the wisdom of God. I will win all the battles in my life through strategic planning that comes from good counsel.

YOU ARE NOT A NOBODY

Hosea put it well: I’ll call nobodies and make them somebodies; I’ll call the unloved and make them beloved. In the place where they yelled out, “You’re nobody!” they’re calling you “God’s living children.” (Romans 9:25-26 MSG)

Are you feeling exhausted today by what seems to be the constant hustles and bustles of life? Do you feel like a nobody, just part of the numbers of people in the world? Are you feeling unloved and forsaken? You don’t need to feel this way because you are God’s beloved and He has special plans for you.

He says, “For I know the plans I have for you. Plans for good and not for evil. Plans to bring you an expected end.” (Jeremiah 29:11). It might look dark and gloomy right now but this is not the end. Night will soon turn into day. That situation will soon change! God’s grace is sufficient for you and things will turn around for your good.

He says I will call nobodies and make them somebodies. He knows you by name, you are not just an insignificant number. He is interested in the intimate detail of your life. From the time you were born, He has been intimately present in your life. He has defended you and protected you in times you would have been the devil’s prey.

People might have rejected you and you are feeling that life is not worth living. Before you go in that direction of thought, God is calling you His beloved today. His love surpasses the love of anyone in this world. Don’t worry about those who have left you, focus on Him, the author and finisher of your faith.

I pray for you today that you may find encouragement within. That the light of God may pierce that darkness and grant you access into a better life just as God planned for you.

Declare this,
I am a somebody, God’s special beloved, a joint heir with Christ Jesus. My life is turning around for good.
