Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16 KJV)
Are you a child of God? Separated from the world and received Jesus as your Lord and savior? If so, there are truths you ought to know as expounded by the Apostle Paul in Hebrews 4. When Jesus rose from the dead, He ascended as the word tells us, He has become our great high priest and Paul exhorts us to hold fast our profession (verse 14). The word profession here is the Greek word homologia meaning our confession. Faith works with the confession one holds. You have to speak the word only and nothing else. As you speak the word, it causes your great High Priest to move in His duties in your life.
In Hebrews 4:15, we are told our high priest is not detached from the feeling of our infirmities but he was in all points tempted as we are but without sin. He was able to resist sin even though He came to earth and faced the same challenges as we face but yet without sin. He overcame it all to become an example for us! There are times you might feel the pressure to do things the wrong way, just remember we have an example in Jesus! Are you facing an infirmity, weakness or disease? Do not give in, hold on to your confession of faith. You have a High Priest who is more than capable and overcame every form of challenge here on earth.
He only did not ascend to act on our behalf but He opened the heavenly portal, to enable us to approach the throne of grace with boldness. This means that we are now accepted by the Father as joint heirs with Christ. We can approach the throne of grace and the result is we obtain mercy and find grace to help in times of need. There are many things that challenge us here on earth just as Christ was challenged, the solution is the mercy and grace found in the throne room.
How does one approach the throne of grace. It is through the confession of the word and through prayer. Refuse to give up in the face of infirmities. Christ paid the price in full so that you may emerge a victor in all situations. The enemy may try to bring one thing after another against you but refuse to budge, hold on to your confession. You have a great high priest on your side who not only your example but stands on your behalf.
I declare victory in your camp today. I pray for change in your finances and in your profession. As you speak His word only may you become a witness of His wonder-working power in your life. Nothing is hard or difficult for Him. You hold the key to your victory through your mouth. Keep your confession in line with His word and victory will be yours!
Declare this,
I am a victor because He is a victor. I will not fear any challenge, infirmity, nor intimidation from the enemy for He attained victory on my behalf. I confess the word only and refuse to open my mouth to speak otherwise. I see victory ahead and I speak it into existence!
