This year I have been doing my annual Genesis to Revelation Bible study from the The Message Bible. There are some portions where I have been disappointed by the interpretation but also others where things became very clear to me. Let’s look at one particular portion as we stay in the book of Galatians.
Galatians 6:18 (King James Version)
Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
Just a simple read of this from KJV might sound simple to someone but meditation on the scripture and further searching will give a fresh perspective.
I want you to look at this same scripture from The Message,
Galatians 6:18
May what our Master Jesus Christ gives freely be deeply and personally yours, my friends. Oh, yes!
I found this to precisely define the grace of our Lord Jesus being at work in our lives. We know grace to mean ‘unmerited favour’ but today I want you to see the deeper meaning of it. Grace is what our Master gives freely to those who will take it. The writer is praying that it be deeply and personally yours. Deeply means it’s completely entrenched, solidified in your system, immovable! Personally means that no one can claim it from you, steal if from you or deprive you of it unless you so choose to surrender it. It’s your grace given to you for your full benefit. Don’t surrender it to the enemy for anything.
I pray for you, that the grace of God may fully manifest in your life during this fast. May you discover His fullness in your marriage, work, finances and relationships. As you fast and pray today, remember what Christ has given you freely and is personally yours. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you!
#Grace is yours, don’t accept anything less than it.
# Feast on this grace until it is deep and personal.
#You are chosen and special, don’t give it up for anything .
#Take hold of your rights and give them up for nothing.
