The word power here is dynamis, meaning miraculous power and the word authority is exousia meaning force, capacity, competency! Jesus had spent time demonstration this Himself but His main agenda was to leave a legacy so He had to demonstrate that the power He had He could pass on to His followers. Passing on meant His work would continue.
Luke 9:1
Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.
He called the twelve and gave them power and authority over ALL devils and to CURE diseases. I want you to notice that one of the major ministries of Jesus remains keeping all Devils under and to cure diseases. Satan is the cause of all disease. Demons are the agents or distributors of sickness. I want you to observe the results;
Luke 9:6
And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.
They departed and went through the towns preaching the gospel and there was a proof, they were healing everywhere. Disease is not going to be taken away by technology, it needs the power and authority of God. Imagine then they probably had makeshift hospitals but demons were raging with making people sick. It needed power and authority! A rare order of it! The same thing today!
As a child of God, there is power and authority you have built up over the past 21 days. Go out and exercise that power! Don’t let the enemy try and convince you otherwise. You are the key, you are the answer, you are the solution! You must put Satan and his demons in their place. There are many out there looking for an answer to their physical challenges. No matter how doctors advance their studies, they don’t hold the authority and power to break the power of demons holding many people down.
Today as you pray, will you cry for power and authority? Cry to be an answer to your generation. He has never denied those who come to Him seeking. (John 16:23). He said SEEK and you will find! Seek this power and authority, it is available for Him to give it because His agenda must be advanced in 2016. You represent the balm in Gilead, you are a representative of the physician there (Jer 8:22). Put all your selfish desires aside and cry for this power and authority. All these other things will be added to you as you SEEK his face! I assure you that your life will not be the same again!
#Day 21, you have done well.
#There is power and authority available but you must seek for it.
#We don’t stop here, the world needs us more powerful and more knowledgeable.
#Be the answer to the needs of the towns and communities languishing under one form or another of the devil’s oppressions.
#Will you be one of the first 12 that were willing to go forth and preach the gospel and healing the sick?
