DESOLATION SHALL NOT DEFINE YOU

From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband. (Galatians 4:27 KJV)

Joy remains key to a life of victory! It doesn’t matter what you are going through, allow joy to flow out of you. The Word clearly tells us that Jesus endured the death of the cross as He focused on the joy that was set ahead. Remain joyful in that situation, refuse to slide into fear and depression!

Those that are not in a difficult time of sorts, I encourage you today to pray, break forth and cry for those who lack and are going through hardships! Do not judge them, most are under attack from the enemy and need those around them to fight for them spiritually. When last did you pray for your Pastor and his family? They probably need your prayers more than anyone? Why? Because they are in the front line of the battle and the enemy will target them for being your pillar!

The book of Job sheds a clear light of the destruction the enemy can cause. There was no blemish in Job but he faced the worst of attacks from the evil one. Look at Paul, Satan had to assign a messenger to try and disrupt all the work he was doing in expanding the kingdom; shipwrecks, beatings, hunger etc.

The barren are encouraged to rejoice, as joy will unlock the door of their adversity. Look at the scripture again, “the desolate has more children than the one with a husband.” This I attribute to your connection to God through joy. Find ways to be joyful in your situation. I know it is hard but that hard ground will be broken by joy.

Complainers usually don’t achieve much. They lose important moments to be recipients of the blessing. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. Lift your head, you will soon testify!

Declare this,

Today I choose joy over sorrow. No matter the situation I am in, I cast my burdens upon the Lord for He cares. He is changing my situation and soon I will testify in Jesus’ name!
