For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 KJV)
When we were growing up fear was used as a way of keeping us safe or was it? We were kept from exploring things. We were introduced to the characters in the dark that had all sorts of names.
When God made us, he did not give us the spirit of fear. The problem with fear is that it cripples. It limits you and when you are driven by fear, you are never able to achieve any of your set goals. Fear puts you at a disadvantage. You start from a point of defeat as it cripples your inner man and robs him of all ability.
The ten of the twelve spies that were sent by Moses to spy the land were filled with fear. They saw the Giants of the land and it brought to them a lack of confidence that ended up disastrous for all their generation.
When you fear, you give your rights away. You surrender your opportunities! Fear is not of God. What God has given you is the spirit of power, love and a sound mind! You have power to overcome your fears and love is what balances that power. Your mind can reason things out, it can knit together strategies out of any situation.
Today, I encourage you to draw a line over your fear. Go and challenge those things that kept you back because you feared them. Yes they might be giants in the land but as you stand with God you are powerful beyond your imagination. David destroyed Goliath, he feared not!
I pray for you that you rise above your challenges today. May you be empowered to see your full capacity in this life.
Declare this,
I discard the spirit of fear. I know today that I am powerful beyond measure. My mind is sound and I am drawing a line over my fear!
