Under utterly hopeless circumstances he hopefully believed, so that he might become the forefather of many nations, in agreement with the words “EQUALLY NUMEROUS SHALL YOUR POSTERITY BE.” (Rom 4:18 WNT)
Circumstances are the state of affairs; it is the way things are looking right now to the natural eye. The one who will make progress is the one who will dominate circumstances. Abraham’s state of affairs was hopeless. In the eyes of man, there was no way a child would come out of that situation. Now in hopelessness, Abraham hopefully believed. His believing was targeted at bringing results in the situation; he would become the forefather of many nations.
Abraham had the option of contemplating his vital powers which were now decayed. He had the option of contemplating Sarah’s womb which was now in the mortuary. This he did not do, he looked at the Word spoken, at the promise given and unleashed his faith on stubborn circumstances. He kept his eye on the Word, never wavering and never looking at anything else.
I am talking to you; yes you who wanted a child and you received all sorts of reports from the doctors. Your situation is no worse than what Abraham had to overcome. Don’t walk by sight, walk by faith. Begin to see that baby boy, yes the one with the dimples. See that baby girl; yes the one with the curly hair. The eyes of faith will always collect what they see. Don’t ever allow your natural sight to be stronger than your faith. I am talking to you who have been bankrupted by a business deal gone wrong. I am talking to you who are in need of a job. Whatever the situation, your faith can triumph over it.
Faith will unlock rivers in dry places; it will bring harvests in parched lands. Faith will change the destiny of families and nations. It is a defence against circumstances that are meant to discourage you. It is a shield that beats the fiery darts of the enemy hands down. You will advance in this season; you will see the hand of God over you as you start walking and speaking in faith. Your life will be a testimony; the celebrations are in your house this time around. You will tell others of the goodness of God.
I pray for you that your eyes be opened to the reality of faith and that you receive that which you are believing for.
Declare this,
Like Abraham I refuse to observe the surrounding circumstances. I continue to hold on to God’s word without wavering! I will see the hand of the Lord in this season!
