But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31 KJV)
Today’s generation can be labeled as one that is impatient. We find it hard to wait or give something it’s proper time leading to fulfillment. This makes it hard if not impossible to act in faith. Many ask, how long must I wait for my breakthrough? Abraham is a perfect example of how long one may wait upon the Lord. At 100 years, he received his son.
The generation will move from one prophet to another, from one church to another and at times even mixing with some traditional things which are not pleasing in the sight of the Lord. This not only makes the period for a miracle longer but is also dangerous! It brings more confusion to one than good.
The word from the Prophet Isaiah is clear, ‘they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.’ The word renew is to spring up, to be rejuvenated! That is what the presence of God does. The longer you stay, the more and more strength you receive. As you wait, you will mount up with wings as eagles. This means an effortless life as the winds of the Spirit propel you forward. The promise is that you will run and not be weary. There are so many things that can make one tired in this day and age. The challenges of life can be overwhelming but wait on the Lord and you will run and not grow weary. He promises that they shall walk and not faint. These promises will work for those who are ready to wait on the Lord.
Are you facing a challenge? Wait on Him as you continue to praise Him. The enemy might come and tell you all sorts of things, present a solid front in your faith. Do not seek other means for a solution, hold on to His sure word which doesn’t fail. It might seem to take time, but to God a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day. Having done all to stand, stand therefore!
He is forever faithful and will not abandon those who wait and believe in His word. He is sure to come through for you. Daniel waited for Him in fasting and prayer until his answer came with a revelation that the devil was after stealing and delaying his answer. Don’t give up too early, tell the devil even if it takes a thousand years, I will wait on the Lord!
I pray for you that as you face that challenge, may you see God’s hand in a special way. I declare that your time for an answer has come as you exercise your faith!
Declare this,
I will continue to present a solid front. I refuse for the enemy to intimidate me as I hold on to His promises. My strength is renewed, I mount I run and I walk effortlessly.
