As often as possible Jesus withdrew to out-of-the-way places for prayer.
(Luke 5:16)
Often we wonder why we are powerless in the face of some situations. We fail like a phone battery that has been put to the task the whole day. The only savior for it will be the charger. It will enable it to continue doing what it does best! The place of prayer is our charger, it revives our spirit man and gives him the ability to meet and topple challenges of all kinds.
Jesus during his ministry on earth came face to face with the most gruesome and some dangerous situations. The word clearly shows us how He managed to overcome. He kept a constant communication line with the Father through prayer. The word tells us that as often as possible He withdrew for prayer. He craved prayer, any given opportunity He would disappear and pray!
Now, how do you compare with our Lord when it comes to prayer? How is your prayer battery? Do you leave it to die off so that by the time you try and charge it, it will take a whole hour before you can even connect into the cellphone? The world we are living in seems to dismiss the need of prayer yet in the background, the satanic realm has become more complex in the hunt for your soul. This is the generation that needs to disappear more for private prayer or spiritual recharge.
Jesus clearly shows us that His power was in His connection to the Father through prayer. How connected are you to Him? How often do you fellowship with the Father in prayer? Be honest with yourself because prayer-less-ness deceives no one but the one not praying. On the day you want to make that emergency call, you will realize that the battery is dead and will not do for an emergency call.
All the great man in the word were people of prayer. It is a discipline that you must decide to develop today. Abraham prayed, Daniel prayed, Elijah prayed, Elisha prayed, Hannah prayed, Samuel prayed, the apostles prayed and Jesus prayed. Surely if they needed to, you can’t survive on anything less.
I pray for you today that the Holy Spirit would kindle your prayer life.
Declare this,
Without prayer I am nothing, my prayer is the source of all my victory and power!
