I MEDITATED ON THE WORD

From the Shepherd's Desk by Charles Magaiza

Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes. Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors. (Psalms 119:23-24)

In this world we do pass through many difficult circumstances. One of the main tough trials we deal with are; negative words, especially those spoken against you by seemingly powerful people. Words have the power to penetrate straight into ones heart, if not dealt with effectively.

The Psalmist found himself in this situation where powerful people sat and spoke against him. How did he deal with it? The question always is, ‘what is your response?’ He did not allow the negative words to penetrate his being as that results in all sorts of problems, anxiety, depression and fear to name a fear! He instead went to the word of God! You cancel words with the Word! Negative words bow to the positive words. When Christ met with the tempter, He kept answering by saying ‘it is written!’

The word of God has an answer to all your situations! Instead of endorsing the words of the ‘princes’, choose to agree with God’s Word and meditate on it! Think it, speak it and cancel what the enemy is trying to place on you via negative words! Find comfort and counsel in the testimonies of God. He parted the Red Sea, He will part your difficult situation and you will walk on dry ground. He fed millions of Israelites in the desert with meat, something seemingly impossible in the eyes of man!

Don’t give the devil a blank Cheque into your life, to endorse the words that are being spoken against you, on the contrary collect your victory and build your faith by meditating on his Word and testimonies!

I pray, that you will develop the strength to ignore the negative words and meditate on the Lord’s Word and testimonies. Victory is imminent.

Declare this,

I rise from depression and anxiety through the word of God. I refuse to allow the words of the enemy into my inner man, rather I meditate on God’s Word and his testimonies. Victory is mine, in Jesus’ name!
