Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. (Psalms 32:7 KJV)
Growing up we used to play hide and seek. One needed to find a good place to hide so that the seeker would fail to find him or her to emerge victorious. There was however a lot of cheating, for example, the seeker would open one eye when they are supposed to close both their eyes. They would then easily locate where the hider is.
Life is still a hide a seek! You are the one who must hide and the one seeking your life is the enemy of your soul, the devil. 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” The devil is a cheater, he doesn’t play by the rules! When he is supposed to close both eyes he has one open just so he can trap your life. Peter clearly tells us to be sober and vigilant. Never take anything for granted!
The Psalmist says, “You are my hiding place, you shall preserve me from trouble.” When one hides in God, he or she is preserved from trouble. Every trick the enemy tries to employ won’t work as he has to go past God to find you. Every trick of his will fall fruitless and every arrow of his will fall aimless because in God there is all the cover one needs.
Listen to what Paul says in Colossians 3:3 “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” Now the coming of Christ made things even harder for the devil. Though you are alive, as a believer, it is even harder for the enemy to locate you. Your life is now hidden with Christ in God. Meditate on this truth! In Christ there is no arrow of the enemy that can penetrate. The work on the cross was total and complete, that’s why Christ uttered, “IT IS FINISHED!”
Refuse for the enemy to cheat you, to try and expose you through his sin, poverty, confusion etc. Your life is hidden in Christ, in God! You are in a place of abundance and protection. Refuse to be confused by the enemy. Declare your hiding place and don’t allow the enemy to trick you. Don’t focus on the outside circumstances, keep your eyes on Him. In Him you have victory all the time, in Him you have power to overcome and in Him you have a constant supply.
I pray for you that God’s grace will encompass you and cover you from every trick of the enemy. Victory and protection is yours in this life!
Declare this,
My life is hidden with Christ in God. I overcome every obstacle and situation set in my way by the enemy. It’s no longer I that lives but Christ lives in me.
