And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father. (Luke 9:42 KJV)
A burdened father had tried everything to get a solution for his child but every attempt had been futile. The devil’s grip on the boy was firm and even a visit to the disciples had failed to bring relief. He wanted a normal life for his son but the devil would not give it easy.
At that moment, the Master of life arrived, the giver of Zoe (the God kind of life)! The cry of the father could be heard by everyone, “Please, please teacher, take a look at my son, he is my only child.” This was the moment for his breakthrough, in that minute things could change for the best. After all he was in front of Jesus, surely the devil should lose his grip now! To the delight of the father, Jesus said “bring him.” He was a few steps from his miracle, just a moment from knocking off the devil’s grip.
Many have been in that place before, where you thought you were close to the solution and indeed you were. A place where things would change in a minute. All you needed was to go through that final interview, go past that last month of pregnancy, complete that final exam in college! The list is there, you know it all.
As the boy was walking to Jesus to collect his deliverance, the devil had his last show planned. Surely he would not give up easily. “He threw him down, and tare him.” Ever heard of the last kick of a dying horse? It is fierce and powerful, if you
dodge it you are safe for good! The devil tried to show that he was in control and scare everyone around into submission.
Jesus was calm, confident in the authority He had. He rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the child and delivered him to his father. Today I have a message for you, don’t be scared of the last minute attempts of the devil to keep you away from your
miracle. You will pass that final interview and get that job, you will graduate with that degree, you will hold that baby in your hands!
Today stand in the authority that Jesus gave you and rebuke the unclean spirits trying to manipulate your moment of breakthrough. Don’t be a cry baby, rebuke now! I pray for you that your moment of breakthrough is not postponed by the devil’s scare tactics.
Declare this,
My moment has come, I will not be set back anymore! I walk in authority and take hold of my miracle!
