Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. (Isaiah 26:3 KJV)
The world we live in can present many challenges. There has been a marked rise in the rate of suicides, depression drug abuse, alcohol abuse and hyper tension. All of this directly related to the challenges that life presents. The prophet Isaiah gives a solution to these challenges.
What one needs in this world is peace. Not just peace but the peace that only God gives. The solutions the world provides are temporary and struggle to hold up but that which God does is permanent. God will keep you in perfect peace (shalom shalom) if you put your mind on Him. Now this is deeper than you thought! Your mind must constantly be set on God. No matter what you are facing today, let God be part of your thoughts concerning it. Convince yourself that even though you don’t have a solution, it is not over. God Himself holds the key for your breakthrough!
When you trust in God, He is compelled to act on your behalf. Has the company that you served for so long fired you with no regard? Are you sick and weary? Are your resources not covering the expenses? There are so many things that will put a challenge on you today but refuse to let your mind stay on them, rather put your mind on God. Meditate on His word, speak His word back to yourself. When the month end challenges are looking you in the face and you have no idea what to do! Pull your Bible and read the word out loud to yourself.
Jesus spoke and said in John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” His peace surpasses all understanding, it will cause you to be calm in the midst of the worst storm. It is better to look to Him for peace than to look at man. The hand of man will easily let you down but not the hand of God. Even though you walk through the the valley of the shadow of death, He will remain with you and will keep holding your hand. In these moments, man will abandon you but never God!
I pray for you today that you may see the light of God that is with you even in that situation. May you be strengthened with His might in your inner man as you look up to Him.
Declare this,
My help is imminent because I trust in Him. My mind is set on Him and not on anything else. I am confident He will deliver me as a result I refuse to fear. Shalom shalom is mine in Jesus’ name!
