And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. (Genesis 11:6)
There are many astounding stories in the Old Testament including the building of the Tower of Babel. The people imagined they would build a tower that would reach to the heavens. According to scripture this was going to be possible owing to the way they were united!
The scripture above shows us that they were united and of one language. Agreement was a strong key to what they intended to achieve. Many a time families, companies and even nations blame their failure to progress or finish a project to lack of resources and sometimes you even hear words like witchcraft mentioned.
The truth is there is power in agreement. When we come together and agree, nothing is impossible. Only God can stop it! The building of the tower started and God looked and said ‘nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined.’ With unity, all imaginations can come to pass as long as they are in the will of God.
Matthew 18:19 says, “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” Do you see that! Two people on earth united and praying for something the Father gets into action! These are words from Jesus Himself.
One writer once said, “United we stand and divided we fall.” This is so true, Unity will take us to another level as a people despite race, nationality or origin. Today pray that the Lord gives you a heart inclined towards a love for others. Love that looks beyond the natural eyes.
Declare this,
Lord thank for the power of unity. Today I submit myself to the God kind of love. With unity and your word on my side, I can achieve great things.
