Watch with me for one hour

And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. (Matthew 26:40-41 KJV)

Slumber seemed to be one of the greater enemy of prayer. The devil uses it so that he can stop the will of God from being fulfilled here on earth. He will try and use everything at his disposal to stop you from praying. When one takes time to watch and pray, he evades temptation and brings himself into a realm of power. The only language the devil understands is power, nothing else!

As the year comes to an end, it is to your advantage to train yourself the discipline of prayer. Jesus gives the absolute minimum for prayer- ‘could you not watch with me but one hour.’ Out of the given 24 hours, the minimum one hour has the power to help you evade temptation and overcome every trap laid against you by the devil. To fulfill God’s agenda on earth, He needs you as a vessel. Through you, he wants to bring about His power on earth. If the flesh is allowed to be weak when it comes to prayer, the devil is then capable of fulfilling his negative agenda against your life.

Through prayer you bring down the power of God, you allow God to move in your community and nation. If believers all pray the minimum one hour, change will be evident in our communities. There is a need for you to raise your spirit man to gain mastery over the flesh.

The flesh is easily distracted, easily finds entertainment in things that are non spiritual.
Slumber,  Tiredness, Lack of spiritual focus, TV, social media etc seems to take more space and time than things spiritual. Child of God, you must make a decision to go back to the original faith.

Watch and pray that you evade temptation. Watching combined with praying is asking for more focus. It’s not just speaking vain words but well chosen words dealing with the subject matter of prayer. It is prayer that is word based and speaks the word of God, being His will to be established here on earth.

The power is within you to overcome the flesh. Are you going to join the army of believers determined to bring the will of God on the earth? This you can do by putting that one hour aside to pray. You can always create time for the things that are important to you. Make prayer important. Make it a pillar for 2016 and you will see your life change for the best.

I pray for you that the grace of prayer will overshadow you and that the spirit of slumber will not keep you away from prayer from now going forward in Jesus’ name.

Declare this,
I give myself away to the Lord that He may use me as a vessel to change the world through prayer. I refuse to be entangled by the attractions of the world designed to steal my time with God.
