And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt. (Exodus 13:17 KJV)
Have you ever been in a place where you felt frustrated by your seemingly slow progress? A place where it seemed you are one who progresses at a slow pace and yet your friends and others are moving faster. God might be involved in your situation.
The children of Israel were in bondage in the land of Egypt for over three hundred years. They had become accustomed to this kind of life it took the inspirational leadership of Moses for them to see life differently. Pharaoh resisted the release of the people until that decisive night when God dealt with every first-born in Egypt. Upon release, God did not take them through the highway in the land of the Philistines. This was closer to their destination and would have taken them there quickly.
Do you feel delayed and exhausted as God seems to lead you in a round about way? God is sensitive to your condition and emotions. He would rather you took longer to get there than for you to falter and revert back to your captivity!
This is how you deal with a situation of delay. Remain prayerful and in touch with the leading of God’s Spirit. It is out of his leadership that you will remain certain of getting to your desired destination. If you are out of touch with Him, you lose your coordinates and you will not be able to make it.
I pray for you today that you receive strength to continue, that the grace of God will direct you in the ways that will benefit you physically and spiritually.
Declare this,
I keep my focus on the Lord who leads me in the path that I should go. I remove my eyes from those things designed by the enemy to discourage me.
