Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. (Psalms 32:7 KJV)
We live in a world that carries a lot of challenges. The enemy we fight is not satisfied, he goes around like a roaring seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8-9). Peter the Apostle says be sober, be vigilant and resist him steadfast in faith. One of the ways of resisting him is always making sure that you remain in favour with God and continually under His cover. You must be able to confidently say that He is your hiding place.
When He is your hiding place, He preserves you from any form of trouble. He covers and surrounds you with songs of deliverance. When the enemy tries to attack you, he finds you in the secret place of the most high. There he can not touch even your finger.
Today, I challenge you to examine your life! Are there areas in which you have diverted from the way, deciding to take an easy road? This comes with dangerous results! Though we are under grace, a total ignorance of the voice of the Spirit asking you to get back on the way exposes you. Resulting in you being exposed to attack. As you examine yourself, ask if you are still walking well with the Lord. Ask yourself if you are working out your salvation with fear and trembling?
King Saul when he was chosen as king in Israel he feared God. He totally relied on God and his prophet Samuel. At the end of his reign, he got himself to a place where he took the voice of God for granted. He even argued with Samuel the prophet! The result was God rejecting him and tearing the kingdom from him.
David was a man out God’s heart because he allowed his heart to be perpetually examined by God. “Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.” (Psalms 26:2). This is an important prayer to ensure that your hiding place is still intact. Don’t ever come to a place where you take God’s word for granted.
I pray for you that you may come to a place where you examine your heart and allow God’s Spirit to lead you in the right way. May you never be stranded in the day of tribulation.
Declare this,
Lord you are my hiding place. Today examine my heart and bring me in the right way in places where I have lost the way. Let me be tender to your instructions and let you angels compass me with songs of deliverance.
