“But today, Jeremiah, I’m setting you free, taking the chains off your hands. If you’d like to come to Babylon with me, come along. I’ll take good care of you. But if you don’t want to come to Babylon with me, that’s just fine, too. Look, the whole land stretches out before you. Do what you like. Go and live wherever you wish. (Jeremiah 40:4 MSG)
Have you been in a place where you felt your efforts were in vain? All your attempts to bring order resulted in more torment and pain to yourself? The Prophet Jeremiah appears to me as one of those man who had to go to the front line of ministry battle and prophesy even when it meant death. He prophesied even when he know the outcome and how those he spoke to would receive the word.
In all this, he held on to the calling. He did not stop doing what God called him for. One day, the day came when the good options were presented to the prophet. “Today Jeremiah I am setting you free, taking the chains off your hands.” Those were generous words, words the prophet would never have expected in his difficult ministry and they were coming from the opposite camp.
Today I am here to announce the same words to you. The chains are being taken off your hands! Jeremiah now had choices, whether to go to Babylon or to stay in the land. He chose the land! You too will soon have choices! You stuck with God and He will stick with you. You gave the best of your years and He is not slothful to forget you labour of love!
With no chains in your hands you can do much more. What took you years to accomplish will be done in a few days. I bring a word of prophesy to you. It’s your season of release and your season of choices! Your efforts are paying off. I pray for the grace on your life to make the right choices that will be life fulfilling!
Declare this,
Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. My mourning has ended!
