Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Galatians 3:13-14 KJV)
The Greek word translated Comforter here is paraklētos; an intercessor, consoler: — advocate! When Jesus left earth to go and take His place at the right hand of the Father in Heaven, He did not leave us helpless. Jesus Himself was a great Comforter, healing and delivering those that were in pain even raising the dead. When His work was done, He to the Father to give us the Holy Spirit, He addresses Him as another Comforter!
The Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity and when one receives Him, He comes and dwells inside you! To give you direction and protection, help you pray and advocating for you in various situations.
I write today on this Easter remembering our families that experienced the deepest of pain in Southern Africa owing to cyclone Idai. I pray the Holy Spirit the Comforter touches each and everyone of us and bring comfort in the midst of the pain. Our God restores that which was lost. I also pray for those on the ground leading by example to help restore hope to those who had given up.
Though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, He is with us to bring comfort and assurance. May this be your experience today no matter what you are going through. Things might be very hard but take a moment and kneel down and say, “Holy Spirit fill me. Comfort me in this situation.” When you open the door for Him with your words, He is delighted to come into your situation.
Southern Africa will be great again because God is with us. Never fear nor be dismayed. Comfort is ours because we have the Comforter with us.
Father thank you for giving us another Comforter. We are able to endure every situation because we do not stand alone, we have heaven’s representation in us in the form of the Holy Spirit.
