And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. (Luke 24:49 KJV)
The beginning was different, Adam had been given all power and dominion. He had control over all the creation of God and even had the power to name things unchallenged. He was in line with what God had created him for until the devil came in the picture and stole or the rights that Adam held.
The solution God held was to send Jesus His only son to restore man to his original position. What Adam lost in the garden Jesus restored on the cross! It was important for Him to go to the cross. This is something not cry about but to celebrate. The time of Easter should therefore be a time of reflection of our rights and claiming back what the devil is unjustly holding against us as God’s children.
On his resurrection, Jesus ensured that all promises of God would come to pass in our lives. The main promise was that of the Holy Spirit coming to dwell in every believer. The Holy Spirit is the power of God in action! According to the promise, He dwells in every believer. This means that power and dominion has been given to you over the devil. Do not allow him to impose himself upon you as if he has power over you. As long as you have received Jesus as Lord, you are above all the tricks of the devil. It is however important that you know your place. You can not access what you don’t know! As a child of God make it a habit to study the word of God to know your rights.
I am an advocate in one of the courts. I didn’t just wake up one day an advocate, I needed to attain knowledge through study and practice to be admitted. Lack of knowledge is no excuse for anything. God has faithfully put all your rights in His word, the Bible. A study of it will show you your position in this life. The devil will try and intimidate you through fear and lies if you don’t know your place in the realm of the spirit.
Hosea 4:6 says, ‘My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge,’ This Easter period take time to acquaint yourself with the power given and the power that was promised to us as God’s children. Don’t settle for less! Take time to tarry and reflect on the price paid on the cross for you. If you were the only person on earth, Christ would still have come and died for you.
I pray for you that you awaken to the reality of the power of God that has been made available for your victory. You are victorious over that sickness, hardship, grief, addiction and financial situation.
Declare this,
I rise above personal pity and open myself to the knowledge of Christ’s death and resurrection through the study of the scriptures. I refuse to play victim but I take authority and exercise the power given to me on the cross. I know Jesus is risen and He is concerned about every bit of my life.
