IN HIM

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. (Acts 17:28 KJV)

At the start of the year like this, it is obvious you have new goals and perspectives coupled with new energy and determination to make it. This is wonderful as it is always God’s desire that his children make it. In all the planning and desires, there is a place you must remain to make all these plans work. That place is ‘Him’.

The Apostle Paul was in Athens where he was confronted with idolatry of the highest order. The people  needed to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. He started preaching to them and brought to them this wonderful truth. ‘In Him we live, move and have our being.’ Listen, when you are in Him, there is life, there is progress and dignity. Without him, you are nothing and all your plans are nothing but vain. No matter how much you plan, strategise and work all this must find its confirmation in God.

To live is Christ, without him one is nothing. Make a decision today that your year will be in him. Receive your direction from him, take heed of his voice and success will be certain. The Psalmist says that the one who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91). It is under his covering that you and your plans will flourish. He wants to give you life in abundance.

In him you will progress or move forward. There is no progress outside him. Every achievement that excludes the Lord is a passing shadow that disappears with the going down of the sun. This year, he has progress for you and your plans. As you anchor in him, he will make all your sailing fruitful and worthwhile. He will make this year one that you can look back at and say I made progress.

In him you have your being. Many are clamouring around for recognition and promotion from every direction. Remember child of God, promotion does not come from anybody else but it comes from above. As you decide to abide in him, he will cause recognition to come to you from every end.

I pray for you that this year be a great year of recognisable exploits. May you in this year achieve more than you have done in all the years past.

This year I abide in him. I make a decision to live, move and have my being in him. I am delighted that all my plans are coming to pass as I receive the grace to prevail.
